I have been looking for a job for quite some time now, albeit unsuccessfully.
It has now gotten to a point where I feel like the only option I have is to start an interior design business.
Unfortunately I have no business experience and I don't know where to start.
Can anyone help me with good advice regarding this?
What are the Challenges, Pitfalls, pros, cons and what should i prepare for? Financially and when dealing with the government/authorities in Kenya?
Thanks!
Starting an Interior Design firm in Kenya can be quite challenging;
Access to capital- Sourcing funds may be difficult for new business since banks may be reluctant to lend and personal savings may not be enough.
Marketing one's brand might be challenging because of the stiff competition in the current market. The firm have to be more creative and generate unique ways of getting clients and marketing their brand.
Sourcing for quality and budget friendly materials can be quite challenging because of the existence of counterfeit materials and design plagiarism.
However, these challenges can be overcome with good planning, creativity and perseverance.
